About 65 unique avatars visited GCCAz’s Grand Opening celebration on Friday, September 7th. The dancing was lively and the music outstanding with the help of Maximilian Kleene. Max played live music into SL for the enjoyment of all. Invited guests included several Maricopa educators and nmc representatives. While the avatars inhabited SL, about ten humans gathered in HT2-149 to celebrate. Several faculty members and two students meandered in both worlds while several others looked over their shoulders. The party included food, fireworks and some free gifts for all who visited. By all accounts the party was a success. We were able to bring some attention to this new technology and inspire others to investigate the possibilities at their own institutions.
